The short version of my  story is that I am  "a rubberstamp expert". I make art (you name it, I do it), design craft projects and write articles for rubberstamp/paper arts books and magazines. I also teach multi-medium art classes in stores and at rubberstamp/paper arts conventions.

Artist Statement To the snooty people: I do not believe that "craft" denotes anything less than "art".  All art is craft and there can be no "good" art without good craftsmanship. It is to that end that I work.

A freelance artist living in the high desert of Northern Arizona, Sandra McCall (aka Sandy McCall) comes to rubber-stamping by way of an extensive art background. Sandy has been "making art" since, she says, "the beginning of time". Winning a full scholarship to San Jose State U. allowed Sandy to major in commercial art. She quickly decided that the field was too restrictive. Multi-medium and assemblage was more to her temperament so she quietly worked at her own art for several years until she discovered rubber stamp art.

Wanting to make her original drawings and carvings into rubberstamps to use repetitively in her multi-medium pieces, she looked into the possibility of making the stamps at home. At her first rubber stamp convention, she was hooked. She didn't find the home vulcanizer kit that she thought she would, but instead, she found a whole new career. Sandy now enjoys finding new ways to marry basic art supplies and rubber stamp related products.

She has taught paper arts classes in stores and at rubber stamp conventions across the United States and in Australia. Her projects include rubberstamping on everything from fabric to paper, to polymer clay and multi media. Her articles and artwork has appeared in all the major rubberstamping magazines, including Belle Armoire, Expressions magazine, Somerset Studio, The Rubber Stamper (her art made the cover of the premier issue!), and Rubberstampmadness.

Sandy has authored three books, Making Gifts with Rubberstamps, The 30-Minute Rubber Stamp Workshop and Sandra McCall's Rubber Stamped Jewelry – all published by F&W’s North Light Books. She currently has 3 more books in the works. The one being edited right now is called Stamping Techniques for Polymer Clay. It will be available in spring of 2006. You can order signed copies of Sandy's books on this website. They are also available in all major bookstores as well as in most rubberstamp and craft stores.

Fabricadabra: Material Magic with Sandra McCall is another one of her accomplishments. It's a DVD on rubberstamped fabric projects. Published by PageSage, it is also available through this site or in book and craft stores.

Judikins and Stamp Oasis, both sell rubber stamps made from Sandra’s drawings. The rubber stamp companies have online catalogs where you can purchase rubberstamps reproduced from her artwork.
